I Break The News

Hello everyone and welcome back! As we make our way to the weekend, I want to grace you with a special performance of 'Truly, Madly, Deeply' by Savage Garden.. This is a world premiere on this Blog. I tend to be the singer you never saw singing. I really only sing if the situation calls for it and it almost never does. So I went to Karaoke and a few Open Mics too, in different cities in the past. Mainly because I still love singing and I hope to uplift a few viewers. With technology as it is now, one practical thing is that I really only need this portable speaker that even comes with a light effect. It is not even heavy. Two wireless microphones so a duet is possible as well - any volunteers? I recently saw on a German talk show a saxophone player who wanted to play for pedestrians here in Germany. He initially was hoping for donations but had to pay a fine 5 times because he had no permit to perform. Welcome to Germany, yet again. Rule enforcer, dream and creativity eliminato...

Hello there and welcome back here. Today I have something special for you. As you may or may not know, I am a creative person which also includes being a singer and songwriter. Returning to my truest self is also returning to music. I have not recorded anything in 5 years but because I had some time this year, I took on this project. I produced a remix of the final AUDITION in the movie La La Land. One of the best movies EVER MADE! :D  Even though, I have been creative in different ways over the years, music had to take a back seat. You experience a few setbacks and disappointments and are supposed to grow up/get over/forget/deny your dreams?! A dream of self expression and creating something new.  It is a sensitive yet very meaningful topic to me. In my younger years I knew it was my calling. You try to figure out how to combine your calling with your occupation. The question from the outside world is, why and what is it good for if it does not secure your income? T...

Before the year is over we once again bring you some of the best music you ever heard! :D This time, the best love song of 2019 - in our humble opinion. So how in the world have I discovered this song? I was sitting at a Starbucks in London by myself during another busy and otherwise hectic day, just having a drink, thinking about life. I was all in thought when I heard the chorus and was like WHAT IS THIS?!? 😱  Also WHO IS THIS?!? So I asked the Barista to let me know, since Shazam is long gone from my phone as well. First attempt: 'I don't know it is someones personal playlist..'. So I searched Google up and down for this song based on parts of the lyrics.. No result. Weeks later, I was already wondering if I will ever be able to find out - what if this was really just the playlist on someones phone - it happened again. Same place, around the same time. So I ran to the counter and bothered another Barista and this one went to the back and returned with a name...

Photo  ©  Ari Michelson To move a NYC audience is not easy because they have seen EVERYTHING. Yet Alanis Morissette and Jimmy Fallon managed to get subway passengers excited when they went busking under ground in NYC a few days ago. Starting off with a Christmas song it did not take long before the first bystanders realized, somebody talented is performing here.. Take a look at the video below if you are a fan or potentially would like to become one. 😊

'Parachutes' 2010 Coldplay album Ok, music fans get ready because we can not hold back this article any longer (it is also overdue since a while) and you need to know that we   ♥   LOOOVVE  Coldplay . We might even go as far as saying we as human kind NEED Coldplay . We love the thoughtful deep lyrics of heir  melancholic and sad songs just as much as  the catchy melodies of their rather light compositions that are able to lift us up (and up!) time and time again. We admire their clever videos not only since recently. Remember ' The Scientist '? Coldplay to us are the modern day Beatles and we can say this because this is our Blog and we make decisions around here.. :) Of course we are aware that they collaborate with many other talented, creative individuals to achieve these results, so we want to extend our admiration to them as well. Now p lease check out their latest video for the song: 'Up & Up'.  Besides bringing us be...

Should we or should we not say that we saw this huge success coming ever since listening to ' Chasing Pavements '?! Hmm.. Finally Adele's new album '25' is here! If you want to feel, and we mean really feel deep emotions - the 11 songs on this LP are the perfect soundtrack for you. Right on time for the release, the songstress took part in a prank for a BBC Special . At an audition for the best Adele impersonator, she mingled with the contestants as Jenny (The Nanny).  With the help of a fake nose and a fake chin, as well as a toned down voice, nobody suspected what might happen next . When it was 'Jenny's' turn to sing her song, Adele's talent burst out and took center stage! S lowly but surely, the other contestants realized - this talent - this singer is the real dea l and 'Jenny' was history. Well, there is only 1 Adele. Check out the funny and emotional video below. Well done! Find '25' in store now .

News in the category: Things To Do In London ! If you are planning to visit or even live here and have not seen ' The Phantom of the Opera' yet, you should definitely get your tickets - like now ! We always wanted to see this musical and finally, last week this wish came true. We had such a lovely evening high up on the balcony of Your Majesty's Theatre  and to be honest, I got quite emotional..  Amazing music, played live by the stage orchestra, powerful songs, sparkling outfits and extraordinary performers with great singing and acting ability - Phantom has it all! The stage was very versatile too, they took us through so many different sceneries.. So if you have a meaningful date coming up or want to take your family to the theater, choose this musical for an absolutely enchanting night out! photo  ©   LoveTheatre.com

People, or let's just say the whole WORLD has a tendency to only appreciate great things, once they are gone. Great artists - completely unappreciated during their lifetime. Just ask Vincent Van Gogh. This can not happen to  Sara Bareilles  because we won't allow it! Sara is an immensely talented American singer/songwriter and we want to dedicate today's post to her.   For when you need to be BRAVE : Sara Beth Bareilles is an American singer-songwriter who achieved mainstream success with the hit single 'Love Song' (which is actually an anti-love song) in 2007. In the meantime she wrote even more incredible songs, stayed mostly under the radar and scandalously enough - still has NOT won a Grammy,  despite 4 nominations .  How is this possible in this day and age of almost only crappy new music releases.  We would describe Sara's music as intelligent, bold and melancholic, especially when it comes to her ballads. The am...

As you probably know by now, Jimmy Fallon has this nice little section of 'The Tonight Show' where your favorite stars battle it out on the 'stage' or dancefloor, while pretending to sing their favorite chosen track - The Lip Sync Battle . Now Spike TV and hip hop legend LL Cool J took this concept 1 step further and the funny segment got its own TV show! With surprises, dancers, costumes and anything else that can give you a fun infusion. In this episode, lip sync pro Jimmy Fallon has to face the performance qualities of wrestler and actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Watch how he picks Taylor Swift as the first contender. Well prepared, he knows the lyrics perfectly?! How come!! How can this be topped you might ask.. Only by an enthusiastic salsa dance, maybe.. See Jimmy Fallon do a song that had not ever even been on our karaoke OR lip sync radar before.. Harry Belafonte! Now go ahead and watc...

And when we say London, we mean we here at IBreakTheNews - in London! :) Wow what a night for Sam Smith ! The 57th Annual Grammy Awards took place at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles last night and a true Londoner won big time! Thankfully, a huge load of soul and talent is obviously a winning combination! Last night the Briton won a Grammy in each of the following categories:   - Best New Artist - Song Of The Year - Best Pop Vocal Album - Record Of The Year In a moving speech Sam said: "I would like to thank the man that this album is about. By breaking my heart, you won me four Grammys!" Well, he must be careful with these kind of statements.. Remember Adele's Ex? He wanted part of her earnings because he inspired her by breaking her heart. :O Congrats Sam!!! Click HERE for a full list of all the winners .

Missy Elliott is not just a mind blowing producer/rapper/singer she is and has always been a music pioneer, ahead of her time. A few years ago, it was one of my biggest highlights when she responded to one of my tweets!! :D She did - and I have the screenshot of it.. somewhere. As a kid of the 90's there was simply nothing more groundbreaking than her creative output. Growing up watching MTV , it was impossible for you to miss one of her out-of-this-world songs & music videos. Hits such as 'Hot Boyz' 'Get Ur Freak On' or 'Work it' on heavy rotation. Fast forward to 2015 . Kids on Twitter think this is the first big gig of some newcomer. WTF. Well you can not blame someone for being extremely young and - uniformed - as it turns out. The main act was Katy Perry. We like that she kept it family friendly and her LIVE singing was good. #Respect Above, you see the complete half time performance and you MUST SEE the full thing to realize...

We are big Björk fans ever since.. FOREVER! To find out, that the Icelandic alternative artist-singer-songwriter is currently working on new material, is a silver line on the horizon to us! These days we can not help it - we are starving for some GOOD music . Just because it became so rare to find something, that really inspires or moves you.  Björk has wowed us in the past with memorable creations like 'Human Behaviour' , 'Big Time Sensuality' or 'Hyperballad' . We have no doubt that we will be stunned once more by her super creative output! She may not be on top of the charts at all times but she is a TRUE ARTIST. Her new album 'Vulnicura' will be bestowed upon us in March! We just have to check it out! Update: Due to an early leak the album is out now! Much sooner than expected.

Mark Ronson ft Bruno Mars - Uptown Funk Warning: THIS will make you dance ! What do you get when you put together an old school funk beat and a talented, soulful artist like Bruno Mars ? A super addicting HIT song! Mark Ronson had the right instinct and we want to thank him for that. 'Uptown Funk' will keep you singing along for 1 hour if you put it on repeat. To be honest with you, we were already concerned about the current state of music, thankfully something like this is still coming along in 2015. Amazing also, for getting ready before going out. You're welcome! ;) (image via vimeo )

Check out this creative video concept from our NYC friends Vidi Vici TV . We think it is really original and we would like to have a floral headpiece like the one in the video as well! You know, for special occasions.. :) The name of the band is P3CULIAR and this is the 2nd single off their debut album ' Role-Play '. Take a look if you like independent artists, it's really a different kind of video.

We can not miss it and we are also not too shy to present the nominees to you including a prediction of the winner . And when we say 'prediction' we mean - our winner of choice! :) Hopefully, we will have at least 1-2 right. We will be watching!! TALENT ALERT: Oh how we love, love LOVE THIS SONG!! "Night Air" by British Singer, Songwriter Jamie Woon . How did we ever miss out on this super talented artist? We must have been hibernating or something.. You must check it out - if you haven't yet! To see what Jamie is up to these days, you can like him on FB or follow him on Twitter . With his unique style and melancholic voice he deserves our full respect and support!  We are big fans and wish him more radio plays and a Grammy to start with.. Amazing.  (photo © Phil Sharp)
